Reflection on Gigi experience

In drama class we did an excersice with professional make-up artist Gigi who came all the way from america to visit our school. The excersice was about being creative and allowing yourself to get out of your comfort zone. When we stepped into the class we found all these paints and pieces of colored pieces of clothes and wondered what we were going to do. We found out that we were going to do an activity that included us colouring our face in any way we want. We then took pictures with different poses. i dont think i learnt much from that lesson but i had fun really got out of my comfort zone.

Lighting will start off, but when switched on, they will focus on him whilst he strokes his cat. When Mazin tells Os his lesson in life, lights focus on him. When the music at the end plays the lights will fade out slowly.

Reflection and what we have so far

What have you devised so far in your scene ?

In our scene we have devised everything so far. We have planned out the begining, themiddle and the end. I would consider this a good achievement so far. We are behind the other groups this is because we we missed two clases because we were in addiss ababa, although we were planning to work on our scene in addis we didnt this is because we never got the chance to as we all stayed in different places. So far we davised and planned out the main structure of the story in our scene.

Who is your character ? Why is he/she significant to the scene?

My charachter is Gianluigi Buffon. One of the famous mafia leaders around Napoli. i own my own restaurant whichis were the drug dealler meets me at. Gian is very italian and he has a very strong italian accent, this is to portray that he is an italian mafia (not korean or russian). My charachter is very significant as he is the main charachter and the only one left standing after the gun shots. he also helps portray the satiracal picture that we as a group are tring to paint about the italian mafia, which is how ruthless and coldblooded they are.

How would your rate your rehearsals (from 1-7) so far ? Why?

i would give our ehearsels a 3 so far. this is cause we only had one rehearsel. because we didnt have enough time, but after a couple of lessons we are going to be fine.

What do you need to improve in order to make the scene successful ?

so far, i think the only weekness we have is our costumes as we are finding it a bit hard to find mafia clothes such as coats and wigs for greasy hair specially for me.

Result of IGCSE Examinations

For my mock examinations i got an A*, I was not expecting such a good grade. Drama involves alot of writting in a very short time e.g. I had to write my mock exam which was about 8 pages of writting in 1.5 hours. To do this you need alot of practise to be able to write wqell and write fast. I had absolutely no practise and i didnt write anything as practise for the example, thats why i didnt expect an a star i was expecting something like an a or a b. According to miss ann trhe whole class's writing is quite good as the results show. I hope to keep this level of an a star up for my real examinatins in may/june.
